MDA Space - Orbital Optics designs and sells state of the art, low cost, high resolution imagers for space missions, and provides access to supporting ground station facilities.  RALCam1 is a fully operational and space-proven camera launched on TopSat in October 2005. This camera achieves 2.86m resolution from 686km.  The company is   currently developing a sub1 meter resolution camera for small satellite missions, RALCam 4.  RALCam 3 is the 10m resolution camera, two of which are currently in build by RAL.

MDA Space - Orbital Optics also has access to the range of facilities based at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, including thermal vacuum chambers, vibration test facilities and the ability for the high precision alignment of Optics.  The company is also able to provide consultancy on matters concerned with imaging systems and optical payloads.
